Winter Brunch
Sunday June 28th, @ Mullum Gardens
To all members and volunteers (past and present),
Mullum S.E.E.D. would like to invite you to another lovely, relaxing FREE brunch at the community garden, as our last one was fantastic and appreciated by all who attended.
Cecile’s great crepes, breakfast muffins, fruit and refreshments will be provided (with GF and Dairy Free options). Please feel free to bring something to share and a picnic rug. There will be some activities for the kids and we’ll set up shaded areas.

This get together is a THANK YOU for your the wonderful support you provide the garden and we ask you to please pass on the invite to any member or volunteer that you know, and welcome them to come along.

I look forward seeing you at the garden.
Any extra helping hands will be much appreciated. Please contact me on 0431458534.
Please RSVP to give us an idea on numbers
best wishes, Andrea (below middle)

A big welcome to our 3 new members of the team!

We’ve also had Eliezer (Steph) Miers jump into the role of Allotment Coordinator and the lovely Andrea Pedersen who has already been an active member on the board as Vice President has also taken the position of Membership Coordinator. Welcome and thank you!
Keep an eye out for our lovely new team members and say hello!

MCG E-newsletter Volunteer Needed ASAP
Dear gardening friends, I have been writing this monthly newsletter for three years now and have loved it. However, with 2 jobs, another volunteer role, running weekly kiddies art classes, trying to keep up with our garden and having time for my nearly-3-year-old, its time for me to let this one go. I’m happy and willing to train any interested, capable person with the relevant skills, to take on this essential role of communicating between the garden and everyone who supports it. Please email or call me on 0420 379 860. Thank you, Anneke

Campers on Site.

From time to time, the MCG have experienced having overnight campers on site.
In recent times, we have had complaints of abusive encounters with campers. In addition to having to tidy up their belongings and/or mess so that classes can be taught on time. In addition to this, it breaches our licence conditions that we hold with Byron Shire Council.

The board committee has been working with Council to find positive ways to minimise the issue and find alternatives. We have created a Camping Policy and Procedure to assist in the knowings of what to do in the situation of campers. This can be requested and will be available on site. The aim of this is ensure our community garden remains a comfortable and welcoming environment for all.
Incident Report Book
On a similar note, we’d like to bring awareness to our incident report book. If you happen to encounter an incident at the garden (eg. receive abusive language, be bitten by a snake, an injury), please can you report it in the Incident Report book located in the Seed Shed. It is really important that we keep a record of what happens. Take a photo if possible of the incident and send an email with the details to: (
Spread the word and spread the awareness. Let’s work together for a safe and positive environment.
Water Use on Site @ MCG
Please ensure you turn all taps off once finished using them as we are PAYING for the town water, And please supervise your children to ensure none are left on accidently.
