Dear Friends, Members and Volunteers,

Here is your Mullum Community Garden April newsletter packed full of new courses and exciting info. Enjoy!
Hi Permaculture Folks

This remarkable wet season continues to inspire my hopes for local, seasonal food abundance and fuel my desire to support the growth of local food, creative and economic productivity to enrich the incredible opportunities we have in our lives.

Myself and the Growing Roots Permaculture team are offering for the first time a Byron/Mullum based Permaculture Design Course (PDC) that is run over a series of weekends to support aspiring Permaculturists who are required to work around time commitments to Employment and Family.

The foundational core of this PDC is a 5-day Hands-On Introduction to Permaculture which can be taken as a course in itself or can be continued to over the coming weeks to complete the criteria to achieve the Internationally recognised Permaculture Design Certificate

More Details of both courses are contained below – and attached are flyers for both courses – please feel free to share with friends who may appreciate this opportunity to immerse in the theory and practice of Permaculture as a design science and a philosophy of healthy, sustainable, creative living.

Wishing you all great abundance and contentment

Feldenkrais ( for Gardening (Tuesdays 9am)
Aches and pains can certainly affect how enjoyable daily life is. Freely available movement leads to an improved quality of life. With activities done with awareness, you can retrain patterns that cause pain or discomfort regardless of your current level of ability.
Learning is happening all the time. Feldenkrais is a means for self-discovery through the felt sense based on wisdom and backed by science. Exploring one’s abilities with an attitude of patience, curiosity and non-striving often lead to increased capabilities and a better relationship with yourself.
From a class, you’ll feel easier movements, freer breathing, and a calmed nervous system. Further benefits include better balance, improved coordination, manual precision, alleviation of tension and abatement of pain. You’ll be a closer approximation to the potential within you.

The teacher, Brent Shaub, is a 17-year chronic pain survivor following a car accident. Feldenkrais has been integral to his recovery. Last month he founded a local Feldenkrais studio in the Mullum CBD called move easier. He offers weekly classes, individual sessions, and case studies in hopes to unravel chronic conditions. A bio and pictures at (http:)

Donation classes are held at the Community Garden every Tuesday at 9:00 AM in preparation for the volunteer day. Everyone is welcome; no prior experience necessary. Classes will focus on the hands, fingers, arms and handling.

3/104 Stuart Street, Mullumbimby CBD (across from Mitre 10, next to Betta Living)
