Dear Friends of Mullum Gardens,

If you haven’t yet put your hand up to get involved in the preparation, hold stalls or offer your skills and passions to the cause, it’s not too late. Jump on board! There’s something for everyone ranging from food stalls, healing center’s, kids workshops, parades, and all else related to sustainability which is what we love most. Pippy, our fantastic Volunteer Coordinator

A HUGE thank you to Pippy our FANTASTIC volunteer coordinator who has been relentless with her enthusiasm, commitment and gusto, making the Tuesday communal lunches and morning teas on Saturdays for a year now, coordinating hundreds of vital jobs that kept the gardens running and making people from all walks of life feel welcome, comfortable and valued at the gardens. Pippy you’ve been an absolute gem, what can we say? You are FABULOUS, you will be sorely missed and we hope you come back after your indefinite travel. P.S Don’t have too much fun 🙂

A few words from Pippy:

The festival excitement is growing, so many wonderful creative things are happening. It is going to be a day long, joyful happiness blitz celebration for all of Mullum and the surrounding areas. Be there or be square…don’t miss out on the fabulous day of sharing, learning healing and partying.

I need lots of creative people for sign painting and for site beautification for the festival. I need painters and planters and builders and movers and shakers.
After a fabulous year as the volunteer coordinator I am resigning at the end of the month (going overseas for a while) so we are looking for a new Volunteer Coordinator. if you interested please contact Jeannette Martin; ( and/or Pippy Wardell; ( , phone 0421926785.
Healing Center Preparation:
The healing center will be a chilled environment where you can come for R&R from the festival. We aim to give as many healing’s a possible; as healthy people support sustainable life styles. The healing center has no work shops only individual healers working one on one for a minimal donation. This is labor of love coming direct from the heart of the healers and the garden to the people of the festival.
The chill out lounge is also in the healing center with hot chai from hari har Chai’s stall available.

There are a few shifts available for healers (massage, reiki, hands of light et al;) in the yurt and a few in the readers teepee. I am looking to sign up more healers and esoteric readers for the healing centre @ the Festival, and volunteers to help me hold The Space in the healing centre and be of assistance to the practitioners.
On Saturday, 10th August we will be meeting at the garden to have a meeting and a “holding the sacred space” ceremony for the Healing Center. If you would like to be involved come along at 1pm to the rotunda before we move to the Healing Center site Contact: Pippy Wardell at ( , phone 0421926785.
Love Pippy.

There will be a Biochar Fest as part of the Living Earth Festival on Sunday September 1 with a morning speaker programme, kiln workshop programme in the afternoon and a bonfire charring in the evening. If anyone would like to get involved there will be working bees on Saturday August 17, 24 & 31 to get prepared. Contact Don on 0459175729 or email ( for further details.

‘These Boots are Made for Planting’ – a workshop by Dianne Hart, cook and gardener
“Calling all old boots!

I am doing a workshop for the kiddies at the upcoming Living Earth Festival in Mullum on 1st September and I need all your old boots. I NEED ALL I CAN GET! I will be talking about the ‘Wonderful World of Herbs’ and then the children get to plant them out and have something to take home with them (maybe your old boot!)

I am willing to pick them up – just call me 0415 498 753. There are collection boxes at the Mullum Community Gardens and the the Mullum Co-op. I am sure it will be a fantastic day and hope to see you there. See the MCG website for details.”
