Sarah-jane Potts here, President of our gorgeous Mullumbimby Community Gardens.

If we haven’t met yet – hello!
Sarah-Jane Potts, MCG’s president 2013
The reason I’m writing is that we are kicking into the pre-production phase of our annual sustainability festival, and I have 3 key questions for you…
Please read on!

We are taking our festival to the next level this year – with the likes of Costa and Jerry Colby Williams as leading keynote speakers!

To this end we have engaged a great festival producer, Jono Fae, and will also be engaging the wider community in creating this festival – to collectively inspire a powerful embrace of even more genuinely sustainable lifestyles in our Byron Shire and much beyond.”
Jono Fae, Living Earth Festival Coordinator 2013
Introducing Jono Fae, our Living Earth festival coordinator for 2013

My first question to you:
Who else would you like to see speaking at our festival…and what workshops would be good there?
– give us some good ideas and we will see what we can swing with our enormous budget J

Please email me ( before June 1st with your inspirations!

My Second Question to you
Do you have good organisation skills, project/event management skills, or the like?

If so, please consider joining our Living Earth Festival team of skilled and inspired volunteers.
Are you interested?
Don’t be scared …we have created bite-sized leadership roles and small teams to support those roles to make things easy, as we are mostly all volunteers.
We are having our first Team Meeting on Wednesday 29th.

So if you do have excellent organisation skills, project/event management skills or the like and would like to consider volunteering with a fun, high-tone team to inspire a bright future, then please email me, Sarah-jane Potts, for details of our 1^st Team meeting!

1st Living Earth Festival 2013 Team Meeting
Date: Wed 29th May from 6.30 – 8.30pm
Venue – please email ( for location details, with a brief overview of your skill set and experience.
We will provide warming Chai!

My 3rd Question
Will you and your folks come volunteer for a few hours on the actual day of the festival – September 1^st…cook some snags, collect donations, be part of the team, etc etc
We would love all hands on deck and the chance to get to know each other in a fun setting like this! J
Please email me ( if you are up for that!

Also we will have a big zhooj-up of the Gardens together in the week proceeding Sept 1^st…
And if you have a plot, why not spruce it up and plant some sunflowers – our logo!
