'School of Life'
– a concept of a free school, teaching kids skills for a fulfilling life
'I have a Dream' to begin a 'School of life' here in Mullumbimby and I
am VERY EXCITEDabout the possibility of this. Creating a FREE school to
help teach kids and young adults 'Life Skills' from loads of caring,
talented and willing volunteers from our community!(maybe you?) To
mentor, train, coach, encourage or just to support the young to learn the
much needed Life Skills that the public school system seems to be failing
to do for many of our children. I would dearly love to see them all
encouraged into better self esteem, good health and wellbeing. Taught
conflict resolutions, communication & relationship skills, parenting,
art-classes, meditation…. managing money, music, gardening, basic handyman
skills and so on in fact just about every kind of skill needed to help
live a productive harmonious life! By offering each young adult a
smorgasbord of class, and personal mentors to choose from, I believe we can
inspire and encourage each adolescent into his or her full creative
potential and assist them in making positive life choices.
I for one, would be willing to volunteer my services, to run a short cooking
class, showing and teaching kids how to make healthy, tasty, 10 minute meals
on a tight budget! I just cant stop thinking about the potential of this!
I'd love to know what others feel about it and who would like to get
I would love to fan into flame this concept and get the whole community
on board our kids NEED US! There are many who are just slipping through
the cracks in the system through no fault of their own! Lets see if we can
catch them from falling and teach them to fly!
I encourage all potentially interested students, coaches, investors or
positive contributors to join the School of life Mullumbimby on facebook
and leave your comments and suggestions there.
