Weekly Update 28th Jan-4th Feb 2013

Dear Friends of Mullum Gardens,

Here is your weekly update for this week (Jan 28th-4th Feb) with a few new exciting things going on. We now have a Men’s Shed group who are holding a meeting and BBQ for anyone interested to get involved (details below), share ideas and become part of the team, and a group of highly motivated individuals are starting up a Food Coop in Byron, as well as our regular volunteers Tuesday lunch. Don’t miss out on all the fun!!

Dirt Club was a huge success over the school holidays, with lots of kids (and adults) enjoying getting muddy and learning at the same time. Thanks to the team who put this together!
Byron Food Co-op Call Out
‘The Kulcha Jam Food Cooperative will provide a wide range of bulk whole foods to the local community. Currently, the Co-op has a foundational Committee, however requires another few roles to be filled before we can open our doors. Have you always thought it would be fantastic to be part of a Food Co-op? Do you love the chance to work with your fellow community to build a venture that will support food access and build new community connections? Then the Co-op needs you. We are looking for people to share the following roles: Volunteer Coordinator, Secretary, Co-op Day Manager & Stock Coordinators. We are also seeking donations of funds to support launching this community initiative along with donations of food-grade containers and large size storage bins suitable for a Cooperative to use. If you would like more information or wish to offer a contribution, please phone Alice on 0431 649 091.
